Expansion Details
DoorDash has added SNAP and EBT payment capabilities at nearly 2,700 Kroger Family of Companies stores on its marketplace. The expansion includes major banners such as Mariano's, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, Harris Teeter, Smith's, Fry's, King Soopers, and numerous other regional grocers. This launch enables millions of SNAP-eligible consumers to shop online for fresh groceries and everyday essentials with home delivery.
How to Order
SNAP recipients can add their card to DoorDash by opening the app, going to Account, Payment and Program Cards, and adding their SNAP card. They can search for their local Kroger banner, add SNAP-eligible items to their cart, and proceed to checkout. At checkout, the maximum SNAP-eligible subtotal is automatically applied to the order, though customers can adjust the amount if needed.
Food Access Impact
The expansion increases access to online grocery delivery for SNAP recipients across urban, suburban and rural communities. DoorDash research shows SNAP users on the platform are twice as likely to live in food deserts as non-SNAP users, highlighting how on-demand grocery delivery helps bridge gaps in food access. The Kroger expansion represents a significant milestone for expanding affordable food access nationwide.
Promotional Offer
DoorDash is offering $0 delivery fees on the first order from participating Kroger family brands when customers pay with an EBT card. The promotion is valid through June 15 and covers numerous locations including Kroger, Harris Teeter, Ralphs, Smith's, Fry's, Fred Meyer, King Soopers, and Mariano's. Other fees including service fees, taxes, and gratuity still apply, and the offer excludes alcohol purchases.
Growing SNAP Network
The Kroger addition expands DoorDash's growing network of retailers accepting SNAP and EBT payments online. As of Q4 2025, more than 4.5 million consumers have added their SNAP card to DoorDash, and the platform includes more than 57,000 stores that accept SNAP or EBT payments.
