Southern California was shaken by a 3.3-magnitude earthquake that struck near Redlands in San Bernardino County on May 6, 2026. The quake was followed by a 3.2-magnitude aftershock. The Inland Empire region, which includes Redlands, experienced the tremors Wednesday morning.

Additional California Activity

Beyond the Redlands quake, California recorded additional seismic activity on May 6. A 2.3-magnitude earthquake struck the region near Pine Valley, and a 2.1-magnitude earthquake was registered close to Herlong in Merced County. A 2.6-magnitude earthquake also occurred near Silver Springs, Nevada on the same date.

International Earthquakes

May 6, 2026 saw significant seismic activity globally. The Philippines experienced a 5.9-magnitude earthquake near Caraga in Davao Oriental at 11:35 p.m., located 35 kilometers northeast of the town with a depth of 54 kilometers. Eastern Samar also reported a magnitude 6 earthquake with minor damage. A seismic-like event was reported near Magugpo Poblacion in the Davao Region, and an earthquake was felt across Costa Rica's Pacific Coast near Manuel Antonio.
