What is a school lockdown and how does it work?
A school lockdown is a safety procedure where students and staff are secured inside classrooms or safe areas to protect them from an immediate threat outside or inside the building. During a lockdown, doors are locked, students remain quiet and still, and normal activities stop until authorities determine it is safe to resume.
