What is the Atlanta Dream
The Atlanta Dream is one of the 12 teams in the Women's National Basketball Association. The team was established in 2008 and has been competing in the WNBA ever since. Like all WNBA teams, the Atlanta Dream plays a regular season schedule and competes for the championship title.
Team History
The Atlanta Dream began playing in 2008 as the newest franchise at that time. The team has gone through various coaching changes and player rosters over the years. In 2021, Renee Montgomery became part-owner of the team, making her the first former WNBA player to become an ownership stakeholder in a WNBA franchise.
Home and Operations
The Atlanta Dream plays their home games at State Farm Arena in downtown Atlanta. The team's colors are white, red, and gold. The arena is also home to the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA, making it a major basketball venue in the city.
WNBA Competition
The Atlanta Dream competes in the WNBA's Eastern Conference alongside other women's professional basketball teams. During the regular season, the Dream plays games against teams like the New York Liberty, Washington Mystics, Chicago Sky, and Indiana Fever, among others.
