Heavy rainfall capable of causing flash flooding is also possible, particularly in areas north, northeast, and northwest of the Kansas City metro.
Rainfall and Flooding Risk
The Kansas City metro is expected to receive between 0.5 and 0.75 inches of rain overnight, while areas north, northeast, and northwest of the metro could see 2 to 4 inches of accumulation due to successive rounds of storms. A flood watch is in effect from 7 p.m. Sunday through 7 p.m. Monday for most counties along and north of Interstate 70.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to linger into Monday, with a possibility of storms before 1 p.m. and between 1 and 4 p.m. Monday will be warmer with a high of 79 degrees and wind gusts up to 29 mph. The overnight low will be around 46 degrees.
