Background and Career
Andrea Preti is a half-Italian, half-Danish actor-producer who grew up in Denmark before his family relocated to Italy during his teenage years. After moving to Italy, he became involved in the fashion industry and pursued modeling. He later moved to New York City to study acting at the Susan Batson Academy. Since 2013, Preti has written, directed, and acted in multiple films. He debuted two films back-to-back in 2014: One More Day and The Wolf Man. According to his IMDb page, he is currently developing an untitled project set in 19th-century southern Italy that addresses homophobia and societal prejudice.
Meeting Venus Williams
Preti and Williams met at Milan Fashion Week, specifically at the Gucci show. Williams had been on a sisters' trip in Lake Como when she received a last-minute invitation to the fashion event and decided to go on a whim. Preti was also attending unexpectedly. The couple made their first public appearance together at the Dsquared2 womenswear show during Milan Fashion Week on February 25, where Williams was seen wearing a diamond ring on her left hand.
Relationship and Marriage
Williams and Preti were first spotted together in July 2024 while boating off Italy's Amalfi Coast. Engagement rumors surfaced in February 2025 when Williams was seen with a diamond ring during a tennis training session in Rome. Williams confirmed her engagement in a post-match interview at the 2025 D.C. Open on July 22, with Preti encouraging her to continue playing tennis during her comeback. The couple married in fall 2025, just a few weeks after the 2025 U.S. Open.
Wedding Celebrations
Preti and Williams had multiple wedding ceremonies. Their first ceremony took place in Ischia, a volcanic island off the coast of Naples, as a meaningful gesture to honor Preti's family. A second ceremony followed in Palm Beach, which was required for legal purposes since Italian paperwork for weddings involving foreigners takes considerable time. Williams described the extended wedding week as a five-day celebration. Preti expressed deep emotion about starting their life together, saying the experience felt like fireworks and that he had always wanted to have a family.
