The Evacuation

The Louisville Zoo was evacuated around 9:30 a.m. on May 1st following a reported bomb threat. Zoo officials posted on Facebook notifying visitors of the safety threat and instructing people to proceed to Joe Creason Park.

Police Response

Louisville Metro Police officers responded to the scene to investigate the bomb threat. A MetroSafe spokesperson confirmed police presence at the zoo. LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell stated that officers had not detected anything at the initial stage of their investigation.
