Contract Details
St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced on May 1, 2026, that the team agreed to terms with forward Dylan Holloway on a five-year contract extension worth $38.75 million with an annual average value of $7.75 million. The extension begins with the 2026-27 season. Holloway was set to become a restricted free agent on July 1 and had arbitration rights.
2025-26 Season Performance
Holloway dressed in 59 games for the Blues this season, ranking second on the team with 22 goals and sharing second with 51 points. Following the Olympic break, the Calgary native shared seventh in the NHL with 34 points over the final 25 games. During that stretch, his 29 even-strength points tied for second in the league and his plus-26 rating led the entire NHL.
Blues Tenure and Career Progression
Holloway signed with the Blues on August 20, 2024, after being drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the first round (No. 14 overall) in the 2020 NHL Draft. Over his two seasons with St. Louis, he has logged 114 points (48 goals, 66 assists) with a plus-34 rating in 136 regular-season games, making him one of only 25 forwards overall with at least 100 points and a plus-30 rating in that span. Overall, he has appeared in 225 career NHL regular-season games totaling 132 points.
Contract Value Assessment
The $7.75 million annual average value represents a reasonable deal for the Blues, as there were periods during Holloway's hot streaks when a $9 million or $10 million average annual value seemed possible. General Manager Doug Armstrong signed Holloway to an original offer sheet two summers prior, locking up a player who has evolved from a potential third-line forward into a legitimate top-line star and core piece for the team's future.
