No. 1 Oklahoma softball defeated No. 12 Texas A&M 4-3 on May 2 in Game 1 of the doubleheader. The Sooners scored three runs in the fourth inning on hits by Kasidi Pickering, Abby Dayton, and Lexi McDaniel. Texas A&M scored three runs in the fifth inning but could not overcome the deficit. Miali Guachino earned the start and held the Aggies scoreless through four innings before Audrey Lowry came in for relief and secured the win.
SEC Championship Clinch
With the victory, Oklahoma clinched a share of the SEC regular-season title. The Sooners improved to 47-7 overall and 19-4 in SEC play with this win over the Aggies.

Kai Minor remained hot at the plate with a triple down the right field line in the sixth inning that scored a run and put OU up 4-3. This series had been disrupted by weather. Game 1 was initially suspended on Thursday, April 30, in the bottom of the sixth inning with Oklahoma leading 5-3 due to lightning. The game resumed on Friday, May 1, and Texas A&M came back to defeat the Sooners 8-5. The May 2 doubleheader games proceeded without weather delays under sunny skies.
